Nevertheless, the instructions mentioned in this sectionshould usually work on any Debian-based system.In order to successfully set up a basic R development environment under Ubuntufollow these three steps:. Install the current version of R ( r-base and r-recommended packages). Install a L A T EX environment (e.g., TeX Live available by installing thetexlive-full). Install compilers and other development packages ( r-base-dev packages).Installing RR is provided in form of a binary Debian package called r-base.
